The Schunk Centennial Open Day held at our manfuracturing plant in Ebbw Vale, Wales on Thursday 16tth May 2013 was heralded a great success by both customers and suppliers. Our Open Day celebrated the 100 year Jubilee of our parent group, Schunk.
As our manufacuring plant sits at approximately 1,250 feet at the top of the South Wales valleys, not unusually, the day started in typical style with a heavy rain shower which unfortunately delayed the erection of the reception marquee. However the sun soon came out and although starting 15 minutes later than anticipated, the rest of the day went to plan and lost time was quickly recovered.
Following a visitor factory tour, a number of concurrently running presentations were given throughout the day by guest speakers and Weiss Technik UK. We would like to express our sincere thanks to Stuart Brown, AVL UK Ltd, Alan Breese, AB Test Ltd and Jim Flanagan, CentrateQ for their support.
After a hearty buffet lunch and additional presentations, the day moved into a more relaxed mode with guests trying their hands at laser clay shooting, 'Batak', the speed and reaction game and for those who had steady hands - buzz wire. Prizes were awarded for the best score on each game with a special prize for highest total aggregate score being awarded to Martin Borg, MT Cold Storage Ltd.
Weiss Technik UK would like to thank all those who attended and also those invited who expressed an interest but were unable to attend.
