The Weiss Variable Temperature and Variable Volume (VT-VV) Sealed Housing for Evaporative Determination (SHED) Chamber is designed for evaporative determination on motor vehicles.

One of the main features of the SHED is the volume compensation with Tedlar® bag or moveable ceiling, enabling temperature profiles to be performed with a hermetically sealed chamber without a differential pressure to ambient.

Product Features

  • Temperature range from +15°C to +45°C
  • Chamber capacity of 60m3
  • Volume compensation with choice of either Tedlar® bag or moveable ceiling
  • Manufactured in Germany

User Benefits

  • Low background emissions as standard
  • Temperature profiles can be performed without a differential pressure to ambient
  • The test chamber is made from vapour-tight material (inside and outside) that resists impact and corrosion
  • The special construction of the wall elements combines high stability and superior insulation with minimum weight
  • An inflatable door seal combined with a lockable door ensures an absolute seal of the test chamber, even under extreme climatic conditions
  • By using optimal construction, material and features, background emission are virtually zero (ZEV - Zero Emission Vehicle)
  • In accordance with American Environmental Protection Authorities (EPA), CARB and EU regulations
  • Trusted by leading automotive manufacturers and suppliers
  • Safety tested with CE certification

Areas of Application

  • Onboard Refuelling Vapour Recovery (ORVR) upgrade
  • Extension to a maximum temperature of +80°C
  • Door sealing with FKM instead of SBR, in order to reduce the background emission down to approx. 7mg HC within 4h according to EPA §86.117-96a
  • Additional special ports
  • Observation window
  • Overhead door opening
